Global healthcare logistics provider now has one of the largest cold chain storage facilities in Korea
Zuellig Pharma Korea said Thursday it had expanded its cold chain facilities at its hub in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, as demand for refrigerated medicines rises, particularly during the flu vaccine season.
According to the global healthcare logistics provider, the expansion bolstered the Anseong facility's total storage capacity by 4,000 pallets to 17,500 pallets across ambient and cold chain conditions, including space for 7,500 pallets of refrigerated medicines.
The increased capacity is expected to strengthen Zuellig Pharma Korea’s ability to safely store and distribute temperature-sensitive products, including vaccines, biologics and other biopharmaceuticals.
The company also underlined that the expanded cold storage capacity at the Anseong site is now among the largest in Korea for a single logistics facility. The company currently operates 11 logistics centers nationwide with combined storage capacity of 45,000 pallets for ambient and cold chain products.
“Temperature-sensitive medicines, such as vaccines and biologics, require consistent and precise management throughout the entire logistics process,” said Marc Franck, managing director of Zuellig Pharma Korea.
“The expansion of our cold chain facility is a strategic investment in building a more resilient pharmaceutical supply chain capable of adapting to evolving industry needs. We will continue to expand our infrastructure and capabilities to serve as a trusted healthcare partner to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, the medical community, and the communities we serve.”
